Corporate Comedy Series overwhelms audience in the Oil City

The buzz for the seventh edition of Ghana’s premier standup comedy road show,
Corporate Comedy Series must have been the loudest Takoradi has heard in
recent times. The show which tours Ghana with a dose of original Ghanaian
comedy was much anticipated as people of the Oil City couldn’t wait to have
their first dose of Original Ghanaian comedy.
The crew touched down in Takoradi to settle at the plush Best Western Plus
Atlantic hotel, where final planning and plotting took place. The pre-show media
attention proved that #GhComedy had found a home in Takoradi. Queues could
be seen popping up at different entry points in the hotel where expectant
patrons were refreshed by Castle milk stout before entering the auditorium.
The show was kicked off on a stellar note as David Oscar, host and Co-founder of
Corporate Comedy Series took to the stage to thrill the crowd with liner after
liner of smart and witty jokes, he touched on topics that ranged from the
worldcup saga to the shooting of black teenagers in the United States. David
Oscar received an orgasmic round of applauds with his impersonation of various
past Ghanaian presidents .
Jacinta Ocansey was next to thrill the crowd. The comedienne of both Ghanaian
and Nigerian parentage jested about Ebola which got the crowd infected with
uncontrollable laughter I.D.I.O.T James Brown took his turn after Jacinta and
shared his opinion on the economic instability in Ghana. At this point the
audiences were seen clinching on their ribs.
Khemikal, a computer engineer and software developer was next, he poked fun
at the tribes we have in Ghana, the audience seemed to connect with this, as
they went into bouts after bouts of laughter.
Ghana’s award winning comedian, Foster Romanus,jumped on stage in a
prayerful mode, he lead the audience through praises and worship and
prophesied to a few, the humorist got the crowd ablaze with laughs, he was held
hostage as the crowd had refused for him to get off the
stage.
Then came the dangerously funny TADI based Augustin Dennis who gave the
crowd a superfluous show that has left many who witnessed his stupendous act
Talking till date.
#GhComedy’s man of the moment, Derrick Kobinna Bonney came up to seal the
deal. From his showing, DKB seems to improve per show. At this point, few
patrons were seen leaving the show as they complained of hurting ribs.
The crew seemed to have saved the spice for last, as the Volta Regime
Commander stepped up,to exhume masculinity. Edem began on a mellow note
but soon reach a crescendo as the energy rose to the peek with the trending
KOENE.
The show which is the 7th in queue has left many wondering where these
amazing comic talents have been hiding. In the very good words of its creator
David Oscar, “we were looked down upon and that became the motivation to
start an alternative platform to showcase ourselves”. #GHComedy has indeed
